Implantology

Implantology is a modern branch of dentistry that deals with the replacement of one or more teeth by the insertion of dental implants. Dental implants are titanium supplements and are absolutely biocompatible and bio-inert, which means they are not recognized by the body as a foreign and as such do not discard.

Implants can be implanted in the absence of a single tooth, where one implant carries a single crown metal-ceramic or zirconium oxide, can serve as a bridge carrier or even serve to anchor total dentures.

In edentulous jaws, the solution is a bridge on the implants or prosthesis attached to the implants. The bridge on the implants is fixed and looks more natural than the implant. If there is the possibility of installing multiple 6-8 implants that are statically well-distributed, a fixed "cemented" or movable bridge can be made. If it is possible to incorporate a smaller number of implants 2-4, the denture is done. The prosthesis fixed on the implants is tougher than the ordinary prosthesis, but it is still mobile and can be manipulated with. Implants generally improve the quality of the patient's life, and raise patient's self-esteem. One of the advantages of implanting is that the adjacent teeth do not grind and their incorporation also prevents bone resorption.
